Dollar Bay's 125 spacious and light waterfront homes enjoy uninterrupted vistas across Canary Wharf, the Thames and Greenwich beyond and impressive residents’ facilities. At the tower's base the previously underused waterfront area is rejuvenated and fully accessible, including a landscaped setting, outdoor seating, public art and a café for all to enjoy.

Designed from the inside out, the floorplate orientates homes to the east and to the west, so that most benefit from double if not triple aspects. Generous winter gardens provide every home with a truly useful semi-outdoor space and floor-to-ceiling windows bring daylight in and act as a thermal buffer zone.

A simple rigour infuses every line of the tower's taut geometry. The building rises as two elegant crystalline forms fused together by the joint of the circulation core. The west façade facing the waterfront appears to ripple, its meticulously detailed folds and creases evoking a waterfall gathering pace as water descends. By resting lightly on the ground, additional space for the landscaped waterside public realm is created.

A unique dock water comfort cooling solution is designed to be highly energy efficient, potentially saving home owners 39% on costs and reducing carbon footprint by 23% compared to traditional technologies. It is the first time London Dock water has been used to cool a residential building, which also serves to safeguard the building’s sleek appearance as no unsightly and noisy plant is visible externally.

Fact

Did you know?

The name Dollar Bay was inspired by the Blitz spirit of local dock workers who generously offered help to US navy officers stationed there during World War II. Grateful sailors dropped dollar bills from the deck down to the English boats below, and this touching show of appreciation inspired both the name of the dock, and now the apartments located on the same site.
