Proudly supporting Manchester School of Architecture Events Week “Portal“ exhibition tonight
Manchester School of Architecture’s first and second year students are in high spirits as tonight they open Portal, an exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery that forms part of the School of Architecture’s Event Week. Led by fifth year students, including our very own Jessie Hu, the series of interactive installations exploring the historic layers of Manchester’s IRA bombing was planned and assembled over the last seven days with direction, support and funding from our SimpsonHaugh and Partners’ team.
The installations explore perspectives such as whether the bombing acted as a catalyst for regeneration, the change over time and symbolism of the explosion. The exhibition is the culmination of the students’ learning process and discovery into Manchester’s heritage, which they will discuss in more detail tonight. We look forward to seeing the students present a beneficial experience for other students and visitors.
