We’re thrilled that our proposals for the redevelopment of Quay House have been granted planning permission by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Quay House explores a coexistence of architecture, engineering, and beautiful sculpture for residents and visitors to enjoy. Comprising 279 serviced apartments to the south, a 400-bed hotel facing the dock, and an activated public realm the 40-storey tower contributes to the creation of a new cluster of tall buildings in the area.
Chris Webb, Founding Partner, FirethornTrust commented:
“We are proud to have received planning permission for the redevelopment of Quay House. The Borough’s decision is an important one, in that it will facilitate the delivery of much needed jobs and visitor accommodation whilst also providing significant improvements to the public realm. We are excited about bringing this development forward with Rockwell to deliver a landmark waterfront scheme overlooking Canary Wharf.”
As part of the continued growth on the Isle of Dogs, this project will be a unique addition to its skyline while also substantially improving the currently underused public spaces surrounding it. We’re excited to continue our work on the scheme as we move further into 2020!
