This week, Developer Rockwell celebrated an exciting milestone for the 82 West India Dock Road scheme with a ground-breaking ceremony at the site in East London. Speeches given by Rockwell’s Founder Donal Mulryan, Unmesh Desai of the London Assembly, and Louise Woodruff from Whitbread PLC focused on the benefits this scheme presents to the local community- including the creation of jobs and stimulation to the area’s economy.
Comprising 48 private and 18 affordable new homes and a 400-bed hotel, this new mixed-use development will rejuvenate a site that has been vacant for over 10 years. A sympathetic and contextual approach to the building massing, carefully developed public realm proposals and complimentary active ground floor uses will ensure a positive contribution to the surrounding public realm.
