We are pleased that our Smith’s Dock Masterplan and Smokehouses residential project were both recognised yesterday at the #HousebuilderAwards2020!
The Smith’s Dock Masterplan was named ‘Best Regeneration Initiative’, while Smokehouses received commendation in the ‘Best Design Four Storeys or more’ category. Both schemes for clients, Places for People and Urban Splash, are central to the regeneration of the former 20-Acre shipyard along the River Tyne in North Shields.
Our continued work as a partner in the development of the Smith’s Dock Masterplan has spanned the last 10 years. We are delighted to maintain our involvement in the implementation of the masterplan both in terms of delivering projects and as design guardians, working with other practices to understand to help implement their particular housing models.
Forming part of the first phase of works proposed for the wider regeneration of the Smith’s Dock shipyard, Smokehouses is a development of 80 homes across two distinctively designed buildings.
