Crown Street phase two provides 855 residential apartments across two 51-storey towers, known as The Blade and Three60, along with a new city centre park. A new public car park is concealed underneath the park and outline planning consent has been granted for a primary school as part of this phase.
The residential buildings have been designed to provide high quality, desirable spaces to live, with exceptional city views and generously proportioned apartments. Residents will benefit from significant amenities including: gymnasium, sauna and private dining rooms. These amenities are located in the lower podium element and benefit from direct access on to a large south facing terrace overlooking the park.
The flowing form of the lower podium and landscaped terraces extend the language and feel of the park across the lower levels and distinguish them from the towers above. The two towers have been set at the same height as the adjacent Elizabeth Tower creating a gateway cluster on this key southern approach to the city. The plan form and massing vary to create a composition of three linked but contrasting buildings.
Tower C4, positioned centrally, and orientated due south, has been designed to present a slender profile to the park, allowing the maximum amount of sunlight between the buildings into the public realm. The circular plan form of Tower C5 sits on axis with Victoria Residence on the peninsula of the site. A spiral cladding arrangement has been used to emphasise a feeling of movement around the cylindrical form.
The provision of the school complements the residential elements of the scheme and it is anticipated will serve the emerging Great Jackson Street neighbourhood together with the wider community.
In line with the objectives of the 2018 Great Jackson Street Framework, a new public car park will be built below the landscaped park providing almost 400 spaces including future proofed provision for electric vehicle charging.
