At last night’s British Council for Offices (BCO) Northern Awards dinner, our Co-Founding Partner Ian Simpson was thrilled accept the Commercial Workplace category award on behalf of the No.1 Spinningfields. As a regional winner, No.1 Spinningfields is now in the running for a National BCO Award, the results of which are announced on the 1st October 2019 in London.
One of the BCO's primary objectives is to define excellence in office space. As part of this objective their annual awards programme provides public recognition for top quality design and functionality and a benchmark for excellence in workplaces.
No.1 Spinningfields’ varied and fully accessible offer includes Category A office accommodation across 20 storeys. It boasts Manchester’s highest restaurant, 20 Stories, with a double-height terrace and panoramic city views, and ground floor retail uses. The building’s high-performing façade was key to the building achieving its BREEAM Excellent rating, a rare achievement for a fully-glazed building. Its reputation as a new world-class commercial destination has attracted high-calibre tenants including professional services firm PwC and M&S Foodhall, and drawn shared workspace provider WeWork and restaurant operators D&D from London to the North West for the first time.
No.1 Spinningfields was named Commercial Development of the Year at the North West Insider Property Awards in 2018 and is a Building of the Year finalist in the Architect’s Journal AJ100 Awards, which are announced on 19th June 2019.
